Manchester, 13 June 2006 - Maginus, the specialist provider of software solutions for multi-channel Retail and Distribution organisations, has announced a major new order from Methodist Publishing House (MPH), a specialist distributor of books, journals and other church related items.

MPH is part of the Methodist Church and sells through a number of channels, including mail order, web, and retail book stores both directly to the general public and to churches and church organisations. They also provide fulfilment services for a number of other denominations. Martin Stone, Chief Executive of MPH commented: “Our business has increased in complexity as we’ve increased the number of sales channels we use. We sell both B2B and B2C and have fulfilment and publishing requirements. Previously we had four different systems and eight databases to handle all our requirements. Ideally we wanted one system that could handle everything, although we didn’t really think that such a system would exist. Following our extensive evaluation of the systems on the market, Maginus was the only system we found that could handle ALL our requirements.”

MPH is a true multi-channel retailer connecting with their customers via a catalogue, web site, retail shops and at exhibitions. The management at MPH realised the importance of having an integrated system to handle all of these touch-points with their customers. Martin Stone continued: “We were keen to improve the quality and accuracy of information in the system. This will reduce errors and improve customer service. For the first time we will be able to provide a consistent cross-channel message to our customers by ensuring that customers see the same information across channels, orders will be fulfilled seamlessly and pricing will be consistent. We expect our productivity to increase as we will have only one system to maintain.”

The management team at MPH was also keen that the new system should have a proven track record with a clear, planned development strategy for the future. Maginus has maintained its market-leading capabilities with the help of feedback from the User Group. Martin Stone concluded: “Following discussions with members of the Maginus User Group we are confident that the product will continue to develop to support us through our planned future growth. It’s reassuring to know that Maginus responds to the priorities that its User Group sets.”
